Championing Local Businesses - Will you be shopping locally this Christmas?
|
|
Welcome all, to our November issue of BID Buzz, your Business Improvement District's town centre update! Please follow us on Facebook to ensure you stay abreast of all things town centre. As the festive season approaches, we launch our 'Shop Local this Christmas' campaign. Our challenge, as you put your Christmas gift list together, is to earmark as many of those as possible to be sourced from local suppliers. Let's make a concerted effort to help local businesses grow and prosper, rather than boosting the profits of remote online retailers that don't contribute to our community. Keep your money where your heart is! There are over 400 businesses in our town centre, so you will not be short on choice. A gift voucher is always a great idea too! Some options available are: fashion, homeware, jewellery and specialist gifting retailers. Plus, of course, meals out, cinema, theatre and music venues, beauty or well-being experiences, to name just some. The key benefits of shopping locally are: - Keeping money in our local economy - Local businesses offer personal service - It helps to maintain the local character of our town - It is better for the environment Please get behind our 'Shop Local this Christmas' campaign.
