Our Classic Vehicle Evening Meets have taken place for many years and attract a very impressive range of exhibits.
So, for all classic car enthusiasts, these are the important dates for your diary!

Margery Payne Honoured for her Kindness
|
In recent weeks, Paul Gardner BEM of Hinckley District Past & Present and HBBC have unveiled two plaques in grateful recognition of a wonderful gift from a local lady. Margery Payne, on her death in 1946, gifted the beautiful Argents Mead park for the use of local people, forever.
One plaque can be found in a quiet corner of Argents Mead, and the other at Margery's final resting place in Hinckley cemetery.

Progression House and Sketchley Schools help post 16 autistic young people become active contributors to society.
Progression House is an educational setting that aims to promote learning and independence among its students. Many of the learners can work and function within a professional setting. Although some may need assistance, all learners have the capacity to succeed within whatever industry opportunities that are provided.

On this 'Cookie-in-a-Jar Workshop' you will learn how to measure and combine dry ingredients for a fool-proof cookie recipe that you can take home to bake - just add the wet ingredients! This taster has been provided by the Multiply Project.

Throughout June 2024 the GoLearn team are offering FREE adult learning tasters in venues across the county to celebrate their ‘Have a Go Month’!
Have a Go tasters are FREE for anyone aged 19 and over and are taught by specialist tutors from across the GoLearn! programme. The tasters are an opportunity for you to try your hand at a new skill, explore venues, and talk to the team about upcoming courses for 2024/25 academic year.

D-Day 80 Beacon

Thursday 6th June at Argents Mead.

To mark the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings, Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council invites residents to take part in the special occasion paying tribute to the thousands of lives sacrificed in Normandy, France. Nationally, beacons will be lit at 9.15pm.
