Support for Ukraine
|
It is desperately sad to see events unfold in Ukraine and the devastation being caused daily to the lives of so many.
Sadly, we know friends and neighbours who fear for the safety of loved ones there. Shortly, it is hoped that Hinckley will welcome Ukrainian refugees and we are committed to providing whatever support that we can.
The Government launched the 'Homes for Ukraine' scheme on 14th March where UK individuals, charities, community groups and businesses can now record their interest in supporting Ukrainians fleeing the war.
If you feel you can help in any way, please read the information on the Government website at 'Homes for Ukraine' scheme and view the registrations of interest page which will go live for applications on Friday, 18th March.

Ballet Theatre UK Local Showcase
|
|
BTUK2 is the junior company from the critically acclaimed Ballet Theatre UK which is Hinckley based.
Developing their individual strong sense of self, artistic expression and paired with strong technical ability, the sky is the limit for the next generation of dancers.
The aim of BTUK 2 is to create new and innovative work, providing performance opportunities to exceptional dancers at the start of their classical careers. The production titled EMERGENCE, meaning the process of becoming visible after being concealed, felt like the correct focus for the project, considering many of the dancers involved have not been able to perform live for such a long period of time. To book tickets for the either of the two Hinckley performances of this exceptional show, please follow the links.
- Emergence - BTUK2 Studio Performance, Hinckley
We attach below a lovely Q&A with one of our BTUK 2 performers who is the most local to this area. Perhaps a lovely moment of local inspiration for your young and budding performers.

RCC 2022 Award Nominations
|
After two years out, RCC is delighted to be running their Awards again this year to recognise and celebrate individuals, groups of people, or organisations that make a positive contribution to a community in Leicestershire or Rutland (excluding Leicester City). This could include volunteers, small informal community groups, charities, parish and town councils or village halls. Even rural businesses can be nominated if they are doing something positive to benefit the local community.
RCC run their Awards specifically to celebrate people and groups at the grassroots of rural communities. Whatever or whoever you appreciate in your community, please nominate them as we would love to hear their story. If they’re not in it, they can’t win it!
Nominations close on 31st March 2022. Please follow the link below to make a nomination.
The deserving award winners are announced in September. If you have any questions about the awards please get in touch with RCC here.

Ten2 Gallery Open Exhibition Opportunity
|
Theme: 'I'm concerned about...'
|
Ten2 Gallery is holding another exhibition with a difference - this time it’s all about our planet.
What is it that you are concerned about? What subject is going to make a good painting? A sea of plastic, piles of rubbish left by fly tippers, the plight of refugees, war torn cities. Sadly, the list goes on...
There are a few rules, so please check the attached entry form for all the information you will need.
All work will be displayed in the Ten2 Gallery, 102 Castle Street, Hinckley, from Saturday 7th May to Saturday 2nd July 2022.
For more details, please contact the Ten2 Gallery via the link below where you will also find information about workshops and class programmes.
