Soap Box Derby time is almost here again!
|
As we welcome Summer, we are delighted to share details of some fantastic town centre events in the months ahead. Most are FREE to attend, so no additional pressure on our already stretched budgets!
A big shout out to anyone hoping to secure a team place in our fabulous Soap Box Derby which takes place on Sunday, 9th July, this year. It is really great to continue to see new businesses opening their doors. We are fortunate to have such a wide variety of independent businesses across all sectors in the town centre. Buying locally, to help keep fuel costs down, has never been easier!
Recent additions to our vibrant 'high street' are shown below. We wish them each a very warm welcome to Hinckley and they, no doubt, look forward to your visit very soon.

Three Lucky Winners Announced

We are excited to announce that our 10,000th Loyalty Card has just been issued to applicant Jackie Whitmore. Given the occasion, we felt a special award was appropriate, so Jackie was presented with a Town Centre Gift Voucher for £50 to spend at a business of here choice! (see pic). There was also good news for two other loyalty cards holders who were drawn at random as winners in our monthly prize draws for April and May.
Huge congratulations go to Ravathi Parsons, holder of card number 7229 and Kamonwan Pathaisong, card number 8740. Both of the lucky winners will be receiving a £50 town centre gift voucher to spend in a town centre business!

Classic Car - Evening Meets
|
We will be hosting three Classic Vehicle Evening meets during the Summer. These are all FREE to attend and FREE to exhibit.
In order to quality for entry, vehicles should be pre-2000 or be of Special Interest. No pre-registration is necessary.
The dates and details are as follows:
- Thursday, 15th June - 5.00pm to 8.30pm
- Thursday, 20th July - 5.00pm to 8.30pm
- Thursday, 17th August - 5.00pm to 8.30pm
Access will be via Station Road into Market Place.
(As the market stalls will need to be set up for the Friday market, we kindly ask all exhibitors to remove their vehicles from Castle Street at 8.30pm latest).

SHIRE Community Grants Programme 2023-23
|
Round 1 of LCC's VCSE is now open for grant applications
|
VCSE (Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise) sector organisations are currently able to apply for a grant (maximum £5,000) to deliver community based projects and activities that are specifically focused on improving the health and wellbeing of vulnerable and disadvantaged people and communities in Leicestershire.
If you know of any organisation that may be eligible for funding, please share this information. The organisation should contact the Grant Officers to discuss their application for funding in more detail. The Grant Officers will provide further advice, before asking them to complete an online application form.
The deadline for applications for Round 1 is Wednesday 7th June 2023 and further information is available on the Leicestershire Communities website via the link below.

We are all too aware that we need to be vigilant on a daily basis to ensure we do not become the victim of a scammer! Sadly, on occasion, even the sharpest among us can be taken in. Scammers know how to play on our vulnerabilities.
