Hinckley BID's 13th Annual Motor Show - Sunday, 15th September 2024

10.00am to 4.00pm

Welcome to the September edition of BID Buzz, providing insight on everything that's happening in your town centre.

We have an exciting month ahead as we welcome the return of our hugely popular Annual Hinckley BID Motor Show, now in its 13th year (click on the image above for full event details). 

With over 700 entries already confirmed, it promises to be another spectacular show! Thanks to support from town centre businesses and sponsorship from TMS Volvo Hinckley it is FREE to exhibit a vehicle at the Motor Show and FREE ENTRY to all spectators. 

We are guaranteed an incredible array of vehicles with everything from sleek sports cars and motorcycles, to steam rollers and tractors, and just about everything in between. But, it's not all about the vehicles either! Come along to enjoy a great family day out with live music and entertainment for the children. Many of our excellent cafes, bars and restaurants will be open for your enjoyment, alongside a host of retail outlets.

Registration has now closed to exhibitors for the show, but as a spectator, rest assured, you will not be disappointed!

We look forward to seeing you on the day and introducing you to Hinckley in full Motor Show mode!

Recently, we welcomed three new businesses to the town centre:

The Hansom Cafe New Menu

Tucked away in the Atkins Building, the mixed use creative arts and business centre on Lower Bond Street, you will find the fabulous Hansom Cafe. 

Make sure to add it to your list of fantastic town centre eateries to try. It is family friendly and offers quality meals and snacks to order and delicious homemade cakes too.

Throughout the year, you can enjoy the many and varied exhibitions that take place at the Atkins Gallery, but on warmer days, outdoor terrace seating is also available. 

A delightful new menu has just been introduced with cooked breakfast served until 11.30am. The cafe opens between 9.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday.

Yorkies are not just for Sundays!

One of four OPEN DAYS taking place at the Museum (7th, 8th and 14th, 15th September 2024).

Hinckley BID's 13th Annual Motor Show
Sunday 15th September, 10:00am to 4:00pm at Town Centre.

SORRY, PRE-REGISTRATION FOR THE SHOW HAS NOW CLOSED.

Due to the high number of entries received to date, we have closed pre-registration to the show. If you would like to enter your vehicle on the day, please arrive between 9.30am-10.00am (via Station Road, LE10 1AW) and our marshalls will do their best to find space for qualifying classic vehicles and vehicles of special interest.

Our Annual Motor Show is back for 2024 by popular demand!

All Classic Vehicles (pre-2000 registration) and Vehicles of Special Interest are welcome. Over 800 owners from all over the Midlands and beyond filled Hinckley Town Centre and Argents Mead at our show last year to show off their beautiful and carefully restored machines to a crowd of several thousand.

You can look forward to a festival atmosphere with live music and entertainment for children, making it a fantastic day out for all the family. Many of the town’s fabulous cafes, bars and shops will be open for your enjoyment too.

If you attend one motor show this year, make sure it’s this one! FREE to exhibit and FREE to attend.

Hinckley BID's Halloween Shop Window Competition
Tuesday 1st October to Thursday 31st October, 9:00am to 5:00pm at 76 CASTLE STREET.

Hinckley Town Centre is transformed this October into a Spooktacular feast for the eyes!
 

Hinckley BID member businesses have been invited to enter our Halloween Shop Window competition, so the town centre is looking very spooky!

Images of all the entries will be shared on our Facebook and Instagram, so make sure to 'follow' us and you'll be able to vote for your favourite window.

Alongside this, and our Halloween Treasure Hunt runs until 31st October.

The Tinhatters presents 'Little Women' The Broadway Musical
Monday 7th October to Saturday 12th October at Concordia Theatre, Stockwell Head.

Based on Louisa May Alcott’s life, Little Women follows the adventures of the four March sisters – traditional Meg, wild Jo, timid Beth and romantic Amy, and their beloved Marmee at home in Concord, Massachusetts, while their father is away serving in the Civil War. Perfect for all of the family!

Atkins Exhibition: Quentin Blake - Book Covers
Tuesday 8th October to Friday 25th October, 9:00am to 5:00pm at The Atkins Building, Lower Bond Street.

This exhibition features 60 of Blake’s book covers from the 1960s to the present: from mid-century Penguin paperbacks to finely-crafted special editions and family-friendly poetry books. First editions are shown alongside reproductions of original artwork from Blake’s archive that show how he combines typography, dynamic layouts and his unique way of drawing to create playful designs.

Quentin Blake: Book Covers is a touring exhibition from Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration.

Hinckley BID's Halloween Treasure Trail
Saturday 19th October to Thursday 31st October at Hinckley Town Centre.

This FUN & FREE trail will lead participants to discover some of the newest venues in town. Simply pick up a clue guide in Poundstretcher (in the Britannia Centre) and follow the clues to FIND THE NAMES of eleven town centre businesses. 

There is a FREE small treat* for every child to successfully complete the hunt when they submit their entry form to The Birdie Bunker (in the Britannia Centre).

Also, children to successfully complete the trail will be entered into a Treasure Prize Draw to WIN hundreds of pounds worth of prizes which have been generously donated by town centre businesses.

Blithe Spirit
Wednesday 23rd October to Saturday 26th October at Concordia Theatre, Stockwell Head.

HBBC's Spooktacular Saturday
Saturday 26th October, 10:00am to 3:00pm at Britannia Centre, Castle Street.

Enjoy FREE activities, including pumpkin bowling, creepy crafts, face painting stencils and a themed stilt-walker! Everyone attending in Halloween fancy dress will receive a medal (subject to availability) and a best-dressed competition will take place at 12pm, with trophies to be won.
