Dress Me Pretty, based in the town’s Hansom Court, home to many independent shops, marked its milestone anniversary on February 9th.
The shop began as a dream in owner Amy Mann’s family home, born from a passion for helping like-minded women.
However, a store soon became available in Hansom Court and, with the help of Amy’s husband Matthew, Dress Me Pretty first opened its doors.
As word-of-mouth spread and the shop grew busier, Dress Me Pretty quickly outgrew its space and had to relocate to a bigger premises.
Ever since, Amy and her staff have helped and supported countless brides-to-be to find their dream dress, recently winning the title of ‘Best Bridal Retailer’ in the East Midlands in The Wedding Industry Awards.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Amy and her daughter also doubled their social media following, meaning that they were busier than ever by the time they re-opened.
Amy said that she still couldn’t believe how far brides have travelled to find their dream dress at the boutique.
She added: “I was hoping to become the ‘go-to’ bridal boutique in Leicestershire, but we have brides travel from all over the country - and now more than ever!
“Dress Me Pretty is the place to go if you are looking for your dream wedding dress, but it’s also a place where each and every bride is supported every step. Our brides feeling listened to and supported is the most important part of what we do. It’s such a hugely important purchase, and journey, for all brides-to-be, so we make sure it’s extra special for each and every one."
