There was a fantastic turnout at the Hinckley BID 10th Annual Motorshow which took place right accross the town centre on Sunday, 19th September 2021.

Our thanks to all exhibitors and to the public who came in their droves to enjoy the show. After a bit of a wet start, we were very grateful that the sun shone for the remainder of the day and we could all enjoy the festival atmosphere and take time to appreciate the quality and variety of vehicles on show - from steamrollers to sidecars to the latest McLaren and pretty much everything with wheels!

It truly was a FREE family day out, with an outstanding jazz band providing additional entertainment in the Market Place, a stilt walking policeman and even some free face painting for the children. Many of the town centre cafes, bars, pubs and shops saw brisk trading. A perfect opportunity to showcase what our town centre has to offer, including a great Hinckley welcome! Without the BID levy paid by our town centre businesses, this and our many other free events would not be possible, so a big thank you to them all.

Huge thanks must also go to our team of independent judges who had their work cut out to choose winners in each of the categories, but we don’t think anyone could argue with their choices.

This year, the winner of the Best Car in Show was presented to Len Granger for his fantastic Jaguar XK 140, Graham and Elaine Butler took second place for their Plymouth Coupe while Neil Baker took third place for his Chevrolet Pick-up.

Best Motorbike in Show went to Kim Wassell for his Suzuki GT 750k while James McGeachie’s VW Beetle took the crown for Best Club Car.

Dave Corbett and his incredible Titanic Steam Engine won the Special Vehicle award, Samuel Goodall came second with his Fordson Tractor while

Kevin and Maria Cort were awarded third place for their British Salmson Special.

And finally the Best Turned-Out Crew went to George and Michelle Denny who arrived in style in their Vauxhall Victor Series 1.

Our congratulations to all the winners! And of course, thanks to those who presented the awards, our Mayor, Ted Hollick, Rupert Matthews, the Leicestershire Police & Crime Commissioner and Rosemary Wright.

We have uploaded all event photos to our facebook page!

We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year when we will do it all over again. Exhibitor places filled up quickly this year and many ‘would be’ entrants were left disappointed. If you missed out on securing a place at the show, please keep an eye on our website www.hinckleybid.co.uk
for news updates and next year’s show date, or follow us on Facebook. And especially if you have a young family, check our website out for all of our free pre-Christmas entertainment!
