Hinckley BID’s 12th annual Motorshow held on Sunday September 17th throughout Hinckley Town centre welcomed over 800 exhibiting vehicles - from a 1912 working Steam Roller up to today’s latest top-of-the-range Ferrari! The weather was kind and many thousands of people attended the show - all age groups within the many families finding a Brand of particular interest to them. A jazz band played to the crowds in Market Place, there was a lot of entertainment for children, those exhibitors who dressed especially to match the era of their vehicle looked amazing (Sheriffs, 1920’s, Army uniforms, Top hats and Tails – and so much more….) and the children certainly enjoyed playing in the Police Cars and on the Fire Engine!
Steve Wegerif, Director of Hinckley BID, expressed his sincere thanks and congratulations to his colleagues and the many volunteers who had worked so hard to make this Event such a success. In particular, he mentioned Rosemary Wright along with Stuart Elliott and his Team of judges who had the unenviable task of deciding on the Winners of the 7 trophies - and to Gary Bird, John Coward, and Cat Stilling + their teams for taking control of parking up so many vehicles.
Steve said ‘Our Hinckley BID Annual FREE Town-centre Motorshow has grown every year and this, our 12th, has exceeded all others in both numbers of vehicles on display and visitors/families who come to admire them. Our BID Events Manager, Toni Scott, has done us proud once again and I must also thank the rest of my Team (especially Martina Smullen and Hannah O’Dell) for their equally unstinting hard work.
On behalf of the town-centre businesses who contribute financially to Hinckley BID, and both our pro-active Council and unremunerated Hinckley Town Centre Partnership Board, may I thank all the Exhibitors and all of our Visitors for their support today.
I would also like to thank all the distinguished Presenters of the Trophies (listed below) who have told us how much they had enjoyed the day. I hope to see everyone again next year’.
