Calling all soapbox racing enthusiasts! The countdown has begun to one of the biggest days in Hinckley's 2024 events calendar.
Many of our regular racing teams will be fine tuning and modifying their soapboxes from last year, hoping to take the top spot, finally! But, with over four months to go, there is still plenty of time for novices to get involved and create their dream machine, to swoop in and claim one of the coveted top awards.
If you think you've got what it takes, then please read our Soapbox Derby Race Pack for 2024 and complete the simple online registration. There is a non-refundable fee of £25 for each individual team entry.
Our soapbox race takes place on the natural hill of our main shopping street, Castle Street, in the heart of Hinckley town centre. All that propels the soapbox is the natural gradient and a good push off from the start! Design and style is entirely at the builder's discretion and, in our book, the wackier the better. Spectators and organisers love to see something new and innovative, but there are always a few that beg the question... 'can that possibly get down the hill and remain intact!'
This really is a great family day out, whether you are in the driving seat or spectating on the sidelines.
